I began working at Asozu Elementary School today. I will go once a week to help teach English to the 5th and 6th grade students. It was a real pleasure seeing some of my students in their “native” environment, surrounded by their friends. The teachers and especially the students were very enthusiastic, and that gives me a lot of hope for the future.

Although there are limitations on what we are allowed to teach, it should be a great chance to expand my teaching horizons as well as get more involved in the local community around our Asozu Class location.

福井在住のＡＬT３５人と共に、児童養護施設にボランティアへ行きました。当日は３０人程の子ども達が待っていてくれて、一緒にゲームをしたり、歌をうたったり新しい友だちを沢山つくりました。

ほとんどのＡＬT達は小学生や園児と一緒に遊んだりする経験がなかったので、この年齢の子ども達との経験が多い私はボランティアに参加する事が出来てとてもよかったと思う。子ども達も楽しんでくれていたみたいだし、次の訪問もとても楽しみです！！

Today I joined about 25 Assistant Language Teachers from around Fukui in a visit to Fukui City’s Public Orphanage. When we got there we found about 30 kids waiting for us to play games, sing songs and make new friends.

Most of the ALTs have little or no experience working with elementary school students or pre-schoolers, so I was glad I was able to share my experience and expertise working with this age group. The kids seemed to enjoy the games and really enjoy our visit. I can’t wait until the next visit!

遠位型ミオパチー
聞き慣れない病名ですよね・・。ドクターではないので私は詳しくわかりませんが、簡単に言うと筋肉がどんどん衰え、やがて寝たきりになってしまう病気です。２０〜３０代で症状が出て来ることが多い様です。
まずは難病に指定されることを願い、署名活動が始まりました。
「難病に認定されることで、国からの研究費補助がうけられ、完治への研究が早まり薬が届く日もちかづく」（ミオパチー患者の会ＨＰより部分抜粋）
福井にもこの病気と闘う患者さんがいらっしゃいます。もしあなた自身や家族に症状が現れたらどうするでしょうか。私たちには何ができるでしょうか。

オンライン署名も「遠位型ミオパチーの患者会ＨＰ」からできますし、またクラスにも用紙を置いておきますので、ご協力どうぞよろしくお願い致します！！

元気ですかーーー！！！（猪木風・笑）なんだか暑い日と肌寒い日と入れ替わりやってきますね。日々の気温の変化に対応するのが難しいこのごろです。

そうそう、４月から新しい保育園、小学校での英語のクラスが始まりました！特に小学校（高学年）は中学校での取り組みを見据えたクラスです。がんばります！！
